Weighing in at a sizable 0.75" (3/4") in diameter, these cufflinks really show off the beautiful contrast and figure of the African Kingwood.
Each pair is made one pair at a time by me, by hand, in my home shop. Because woods vary greatly in color, figure, and texture, yours will be unique in color, grain pattern, and figure.
The matching tie clip is available for purchase here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/184492734/wooden-tie-clip-from-brazilian-kingwood
Kingwood is a classic furniture wood, almost exclusively used for inlays on very fine furniture. It shapes well but due to its density and hardness it can be difficult to work with hand tools. It is available only in small sizes (it is yielded by a smallish tree, Dalbergia cearensis, restricted to a small area in Brazil). Other woods yielded by the same genus are cocobolo, rosewood, blackwood and tulipwood.
